Diet and Exercise Relationship – Fitness is, 70% Diet & 30% Workout

When you ask any InstaFitness fitness trainer how to build abs, they’ll answer in unison- “Abs are made in the kitchen, not the gym.” Our experience in transforming the lives of thousands of people has shown that no matter how much time you spend in the gym, most of it is pointless if you don’t eat right. Let’s breakdown this diet and exercise relation philosophy of 70/30 rule and see what it’s about.

How a 70-30 Diet and Exercise Regime Really Works

We live in an age where we want the instant gratification of almost everything we do. We want to get fit fast, we want to look good fast- of course, without putting in a lot of effort. But we’re not going to be discussing how to lose weight fast here. As fitness experts, we’re here to give you some honest advice that will definitely give you the results that you want.

70/30 rule essentially stands for 70% eating the right diet versus 30% exercise. Let’s face it- it’s not scientifically possible to eat everything you want and lose weight. Research also shows that people who exercise without changing their diet lose little or no weight. Sometimes, you may not lose weight even with the right diet and exercise. That’s because while working out, you develop muscle which is denser than fat.

  1. For the first 30-40 minutes of exercise, our body burns calories and uses the body’s Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) or fat, to get energy which is usually stored in the body.
  2. After about 40 minutes, the muscle-group on which the exercise is focused on starts to warm up so only that area burns fatter and builds on muscle. Fat loss happens through sweating. So the more you sweat, the more weight you lose.

It’s quite common to just think that the more you sweat, the faster you will lose weight. But as mentioned earlier, a large portion of it depends on the diet.

  • At InstaFitness, we plan the ideal workout and diet plan for weight loss. What we first do is calculate your BMI and estimate the amount of calorie intake your body needs in a day. If this is not met, your body will burn excess fat which is unhealthy and will cause long term damage. In fact, this can be calculated right from our InstaFitness app, which is available on the Google Play store- which is what we use and recommends to you as well to balance your workout and calorie intake.

  • Muscles are broken in the gym, repaired in the kitchen and healed by sleeping. Post tailoring a custom-plan for you, we guide you on how to balance out fitness training, diet, and sleep. For each of these, we have some great options that you can try out.

You can go for a keto diet, or use our app to calculate your daily calorie intake. If you are a busy professional, you can get a personal fitness and yoga trainer at home!
