Cut and wash the chicken into medium-sized pieces and drain them on a colander.
In a frying pan, heat oil and add onions. Fry the onions till golden pink. Add the coriander leaves and green chili and fry for another 3-5 minutes.
Now reduce the heat and add the chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chopped ginger, and garlic. Mix everything well and then add the chicken and fry for 3-4 minutes on a medium flame.
Now add the thick curd and salt to taste and cook for another 5 minutes.
Now add the roughly chopped palak leaves and methi leaves and mix well. Cover with lid and cook on a medium flame till the chicken is done.
Add lime juice if required.
