This tempting Keto almond tofu recipe is a treat for all the vegetarians or even if you are a non vegetarian, thanks to the perfect crunch and a great blend of spices.
Wrap tofu in a paper towel to absorb moisture and place it on a flat, clean surface or plate. Use any flat utensil or a pan to apply pressure on wrapped tofu in order to squeeze out moisture.
Dice the tofu into 1 inch cubes and slice the almonds.
Melt 1 tbsp of coconut oil in a skillet over high heat. When the oil heats up, add the tofu cubes. Allow them to cook on both the sides for 2 minutes or until golden brown and begin to crispen.
Add sliced almonds to the pan when the tofu is nearly crisp. Allow the almonds to cook on high for 1-2 minutes with the tofu.
Add all of the spices (chilli flakes, paprika, black pepper, salt, garlic paste and chopped onion) along with 1 tsp of the sesame seeds. (save 1 tsp for plating)
Keep heating. Allow the spice blend and soy sauce to reduce all the way down until no liquid remains. You should be left with tofu/almonds that are coated with the spice blend.
30 seconds before removing from the stove, add in the green chilli sauce.
Tasty keto almond tofu is ready! Top with the remaining sesame seeds and additional chopped almonds if desired. Enjoy the treat!
